A year ago

A year ago today was the first time we got to meet Ryan......he was this little 22 month old baby with the most incredible eye lashes and biggest smile. In the last year we have had a lot of ups and downs.... a lot of appointments, a lot of different therapies, lots of tears and tons of laughter.  Not only have we welcomed Ryan into our family, but his birth mom too.......an amazing lady!
As each day passes, I find myself falling more and more in love with this little man, who is persistent, stubborn, funny and loving.  He has come so far in the last year, not only emotionally but physically as well.  He has gone from the 10th percentile for weight and 25th percentile for height, to the 75 percentile in both.  His language has exploded and he is starting to be able to express himself with clarity and humour.  What a gift this child is to me and our family.
